I have a series 3 landy that has developed a screeching noise when driving. I initially thought it was the fan belt so replaced..but it is still screeching as before.
Screeches more under load....
Doesn't seem to screech when I engage free wheel hubs into 4 wheel drive...

Any help welcomed:)

Thanks

Andy

If the noise is only there when your moving then that's not an engine noise but something in the drive train
Could be anything from gearbox to brakes
Check all your shafts for wear and fluid levels and go from there

Sounds probable.
I have fresh oil in gearbox and diffs - all looks tip top...underneath

The clutch is not slipping..

Are there any other contact points that need checking??

My series 3 screeches too. It sounds like someone drilling a wall and the sound comes on for about 15-20 seconds then stops. I've had it screeching (much quieter)when sitting ticking over so I don't think its anything drive train related. I wonder if it's the blower motor? very hard to trace the source as it stops after a bit. If I suss it I will let you know...
