Hi team, wonder if we have any experts that can help. My disco 4 - 2014 has the above fitted. The questions are

When putting in my car reg into the tyre companies it says 255/50 R19 ? First question is do I replace with R20 or R19?

Second question is, are these the best tyres, they are supplied by Landrover as the norm?

Help please

R20 is your wheel radius so you have 20inch wheels fitted

255 (mm wide tyre) 50 (sidewall height % of tyre width) r20 is your tyre diameter

Mind you thinking about it:rolleyes: I bet some of those fast fitters might give it a go;)

They sell them an don’t know what the numbers mean:mad:

I guess it depends on the spec of the car what was fitted as std from new
But whatever size you have fitted now is the size you need to replace with, look on the sidewall to see whats what.
The priellei Scorpion zeros dont have the best rep for longevity 15k on mine with 255/55/19s fitted.

The bigger the rim the smaller the sidewall and the harder/worse the ride is.

I’ve owned two D4’s and both of them came with that tyre size, with the same brand and model of tyre. The problem is that your registration number will only tell the tyre company the sizes of rims that could have been specified on your car as options, not necessarily the exact ones that got specified when it was built. You’re either going to have to go and read it off the tyre wall or, if you haven’t got access to the car, post a photo of the car and I’ll let you know what you’ve got.
I ran those tyres for a total of around 65,000 miles with no complaints: versatile on road, in the mud and on snow, good in the wet and quiet too. A set would last for nearly 30,000 miles (taking them to just over 2mm if tread).
As for what tyre is best for you, what use are you planning on putting them too?
