Yeah I honestly can't believe he's getting away with this it is one big loophole, he ends every one early to fish people in (like me ) "oh yes the winner didn't pay but you can have it for the same" eBay are not interested it's fookin criminal
Of course Ebay aren't interested - you didn't go through Ebay to pay. Why should they be interested when you have agreed to defraud them of their fees?

His feedback shows that he hasn't sold anything in 12 months....... wouldn't that make you think twice?

I didn't look that far into it until it was too late, I'm not after the money back it's my own fault but surely it's not legal for eBay to let this scumbag continue to rip people off, it's just one big loophole for fraud to take place

Have you not read the Ebay T&C?

"We don't allow our members to use eBay to contact each other to make offers to buy or sell items outside of eBay. Also, members can't use information obtained from eBay to contact each other about buying or selling outside of eBay.
If you receive an offer to buy or sell outside eBay, please report it.
Make sure you follow these guidelines. If you don't, you may be subject to a range of actions, including limits of your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account."

I'd be asking a hell of a lot of questions why that Fender was being scrapped before I'd consider buying any parts.

Vandalism? Really?

Not too sure if this is the correct place to post this but it's defender parts anyway.
I won't mention the name yet as not sure on site rules but I've been scammed on eBay with some parts for my rebuild, it's totally my own fault and can't believe I was so stupid. Usual add all parts available blah blah a few emails later all seemed good so handed over quite a few hundred pounds anyway you can guess the rest no more contact and no delivery, outside of eBay rules and no PayPal =
I'm waiting for an official letter from the bank for the police to get the address and fraud squad to go knocking. It's not really about the money I blame myself but I'm ****ed if I'm sitting back and letting scum like that think they can take money and get away Scott free, if anyone wants the name I'll private message you alternatively I could post on here if it's ok I'd just love it if someone knows them and their address
What a bunch of w#\}!?ers not what need at all. I agree with name and shame um!

@danny6801 hes got Essex Scotland and Wales as addresses but his bank account is in Liverpool. To all the should have would have could have brigade I KNOW like I said in my original post its my own fault for getting suckered in, I just wanted to try and stop him from doing it again to some other hardworking over trusting fool but hay ho, strange times we live in, fook it let him carry on

but you have named him. yu could notify e-bay that he is trying to work outside of ebay rules too if you wish.

eBay is totally not interested I've reported his listings but nowts happened, if they looked into his activity they would find out surely, looks like I'm the criminal for doing them out of a couple of quid final value fee and he's perfectly entitled to carry on doing this to people

Have you tried trading standards or the police? After all the bank would have to give up his details to the boys in blue

Yes I'm waiting for an official letter from the bank for the police to proceed, not sure about trading standards they'll probably just back eBay up it won't be worth the hassle to argue the toss with such a massive company over something like this, maybe worth a try though.

Can somebody buy one of his listings and then ask if it can be collected in person and pay cash on collection?

The guy is clearly a Land Rover thief of the kind everybody wants to have a chat with, he's openly ripping people off and needs to be found so that the Police can go and speak to him.

That Defender on his listing is undamaged (and the identity/location carefully concealed)

He's even blurred out the names on the mud flaps

No one can buy anything from him as it's auction only and he usually ends the auction before the end to try and fish people in, look how many bids he has on the iMac someone will try their luck and get stung...one thing for sure if the auction runs to the end I'm gonna be the winning bidder

Thinking about it, he may not have stolen any Land Rovers or parts....as he may not actually have any parts!

Could be just an internet scammer. If you were breaking a late model Defender and knew anything at all, you wouldn't post a picture of an undamaged one.

But in the unlikely event you do win any of his auctions he will only have whatever address is on your Ebay account at the time.

I'm surprised the Police are not interested, but they often don't have the manpower to deal with the stream of Ebay fraud/theft/scam cases that get presented to them.

What would he get anyway? Account taken down? (although it looks like a hacked dormant account anyway)

The listing maybe should stay online while somebody finds out where he is operating from.

I live on the over the river from Liverpool, if anyone wins an item off him, I will GLADLY collect on their behalf...

Could be the original ebay ID has been hijacked by someone else - recently (logon stolen from an old laptop\mobile etc)
The history shows the ebay ID was changed in October, and no other buys or sells in feedback in a year

Dear ),................................

We think eBay account the-bear-man has been used without the account owner's permission, so we're now restoring it to them. To protect this member's privacy, we can't share any more details about their account.

People sometimes misuse eBay accounts by sending emails from them. In these emails, they invite you to buy or sell outside eBay, or ask questions that have nothing to do with eBay. They do this in the hope that you'll respond and give them your email address.

We strongly recommend you treat emails from this member with caution and don't respond if you hear from them again.

If you wish to chat to one of our customer service agents through the Live Chat function please follow the below link.

***Safety Tips***

- Don't respond to the sender, through either eBay or your email provider, if the message is an offer to buy or sell an item. This type of offer is against eBay policy, may be fraudulent, and the transaction won't be covered by eBay protection programs.

- If you received what appears to be a Second Chance Offer for an item you recently bid on, and it appears in My Messages with the subject of "Message from eBay Member," it isn't a legitimate Second Chance Offer.

Real Second Chance Offers appear in My Messages with a blue background and subject stating, "eBay Second Chance Offer for Item...". Always check for both the blue background in My Messages and the subject line of "eBay Second Chance Offer for Item?" when responding to a Second Chance Offer.

- Never pay for your eBay items using instant cash wire transfer services such as Western Union or MoneyGram. It is against eBay's Safe Payments Policy for a seller to request payment with these methods, as these types of payments are unsafe if you're paying someone you don't know.

***If you've Already Sent Payment or Posted an Item***

- If you already sent payment for an off-eBay transaction, or if you're a seller who already posted an item to a fraudulent buyer, we suggest you take the following steps:

- Contact the payment service you used to make the purchase. If you paid by credit card, most card issuers provide consumer protections in instances of online fraud.

- If you sold and posted an item to a fraudulent buyer, contact the carrier you used to post the item. You might be able to receive additional assistance from the delivery service.

- Report the fraudulent buyer or seller both to law enforcement officials in your area, and in the area where the buyer or seller lives.

When you contact a law enforcement officer, please explain the following:

- eBay will be happy to help with the officer's investigation.
- For more information on how the officer can contact eBay, go to:
