Ok so I'm still getting saw toothing on the nearside front tyre. I replaced the last one even though there was even tread over most of it. I have had tracking , alignment and camber sorted all to no avail. The replacement tyre is alsp wearing heavily on the edge. Any suggestions ? Just to get things straight. I replaced both fronts with the rears and new tyres were fitted to the rears. Grabbers At tyres all round.
 
are your bushes on suspension ok. usually the "saw" tooth effect appears on the back wheels and lr did a fix for this ,also once a tyre starts to wear you will not stop it,
 
Might need to look at the bushes on the rear of the front suspension arms.

They may have gone soft allowing the tracking to drift under acceleration.
 
My V6 used to sawtooth all the tyres, front and back after a few K's. I gave up looking for the cause and put it down to the tyres that were fitted (Yokahama ATS). I start swapping the tyres from side to side to even out the wear and reduce the drone. I still do this as the car is now used by the mother in law.
 
in addition to checking for movement on your front wishbone rear bush, check your suspension legs thoroughly.
check the top and bottom coil on each spring - make sure the end of the spring is "cut straight" and not broken off.
also.... when driving - when it is safe to - see what happens when you accelerate and de-accelerate. - you will be checking to see if the car wants to move from one side of the road to the other - no matter how slight it may feel. - if it does move slightly, this is usually a pointer to a badly worn / soft bush, or a broken spring.
 
Cheers guys. The wishbone was recently changed with a new rear bush. I'll see how it wears from now on but I seem to recall the same on my V6............
