Just purchased a very nice 2014 LR Freelander 2 GS SD4 with nice ff radio etc but no satnav. Does anyone know whether there is a LR retro fit that has satnav/radio/rear camera? Or a manufacturer that can do what I would like, without spending more than £500 fitted? The radio/dash area looks like the following photo..Thank you in advance.

I'm not sure on the later FL2, but if it's anything like the earlier version, it's not impossible, but extremely impractical to upgrade the OE infotainment system, and would be well over you budget too.
Basically if you want a particular feature on a modern LR, you need to buy one with it.

Retrofitting OE equipment is really difficult and sometimes not possible at all.

Thank you very much for your kind reply. I was beginning to come to the same conclusion and am now considering using the Satnav on my mobile in a cradle in the dash somewhere - having seen that method used before. Thanks again

I can heartily recommend the phone satnav option. The Waze app is very good, it has the clean air zones, and will re route you when there's traffic jams and the like.

I've never seen a built-in satnav that's better than the phone based systems.

Just make sure it's below the windscreen, it's illegal to obscure your front sightlines when driving.

That's what I use if we need navigation in the wife's VW Eos.
My Freelander has SatNav, so no unsightly cables needed in there.

They never are, as factory nav is already out of date by the time the vehicle hits the production line.
Updates are available, but again those are 2 or 3 years behind the roads, and very few OE Navs are as well featured as phone based systems.

I have looked a few times at getting a cheap 10" tablet with a removable mount rather than the phone so I can have a much larger screen. If I actually went anywhere that I didn't know more than once a year I may actually get my arse in gear but the idea hasn't gone away yet.

Late FL2's had two spec's of screen. The one above is the low spec one with no sat nav. The bigger screen has it. But yer need the hard drive etc to go with it. So not easy to buy and diy fit. The screen does radio and phone connection anorl.
