Waste of time updating, the new disc will still be out of date especially in Europe where they still build new roads. An Android Phone or Tablet is a better bet.

I actually use a 10" Samsung Android tablet, works a treat even with no phone connexion, plus the route can be planned at the kitchen table with a cup of tea. To my surprise it even handles re-routing

I know on the 02 to 05 people are updating to the BMW MK 4 unit and getting an updated disc with speed cameras included and is just plug and play

Yes and if dvd it might say dvd on the front of unit, have a look at #8 by @Ruby Range.

bought a 2018 disc for mine.. shoved it in the slot took about a minute to do the updates to the software with a coule of presentation changes. works fine.. no issue..
disc from ebay £25... genuine made offer at 20 and it was accepted
