PLEASE PLEASE HELP, i have a message comming up on my sat nave screen incorrect disc please insert correct disc i bought an update off a guy and i think its buggered my system... i dont want the damn update now i just want my sat nav to work again, i removed the disc and replaced with the original but i'm still getting that message, i have tried battery disconnect for 30 mins with no avail please help guys i'm gutted the seller of the killer disc is saying its a dirty lens on the laser however im some what skeptical .....

It's possible that the disc u purchased also had a firmware as well as a data update on it which isn't compatible with the system you have therefore now have this issue. I've only used the genuine manufacturers disc in my car so without problems, but on another, although a windscreen mounted sat nav I downloaded updates but it wasn't stated that it included firmware, guess what, no maps at all, fortunately being what it was it went in the bin.

But that's doom and gloom, using the correct disc and any issues could be gone.

Anyway I suggest u get the correct disc for you model and year of sat nav to restore it back to factory spec... if that's possible although sometimes there's a code that can restore back to factory settings, depends how cleaver LRs sat nav's are, a main dealer could be helpful.

What model vehicle?, which Sat Nav unit? Any other pertinent information such as model year, touchscreen, MOST, CanBUS etc etc.

Seen this over on fullfat (yes I go there as well) its an 06 l322 td6 and he`s not had much help, non gen disc.

the 06 model used the touch screen MOST system if I remember rightly....I only have experience of the early MkIII and MkIV DVD based BMW system.

I know the most up to date discs you can get for the earlier system came with a firmware update to V.32 which allowed the system to use speed camera alerts, a perspective display and a night colour scheme etc.

I would be keen to read the advert of the ebay ad you bought from to see if there are any clues etc we/I could glean anything from.

Although Ebay terms does not allow bootlegged software etc - it is always going to happen unfortunately and there are plenty of unscrupulous a/holes out there...

It is possible I turned the key after inserting the disc would that have buggered it up ??? All I want is it back to factory reset

I don't know the MOST Denso system at all well....only ever used it in a hired Disco 4 back in 2007....

I attach a couple of docs that you can read through and see if anything in them helps....

The advert does indeed mention it is an OEM genuine disc, and that full aftersales support is available - his first suggestion of a dirty lens is valid, but then reply to him saying you are assured that the lens is clean and that prior to the installation of the disc, the system worked perfectly, and see what else he has to offer.

I do know on the BMW DVD MkIV version the update can take up to 30 minutes to complete and that power shouldn't be switched off during this time and there are a few on-screen prompts that need to be followed during the install....but I don't know the Denso MOST system at all from a diagnostics point of view.

Any how, I hope the documents attached may give you a clue!

I hope 2018 is trouble free for you!
