Hi chaps,
Anyone shed any light ?
My satnav unit in the boot area seems it's not shutting down as the red LED will not go out even after 2 hours which may explain a battery drain which wasn't bad enough to not start the engine but threw all manner of warnings
cheers in advance Luke

Check for signs of water ingress, a known problem on a l322, left hand side in the boot behind cover is all manner of elastictrickery that can get wet.

Thanks for the reply, there's 3 units there all looks dry apart from the lower black box that has 3 connectors to it one has slight wetness in the female side of the connector
Could this be the answer and will cleaning it cure my issue ?
Many thanks Luke

You need to dry it all out and give the connectors a clean with electrical contact cleaner NOT WD40 and see how it goes and look at finding the leak as it can also fill up the spare wheel well and fry the suspension compressor, there have been countless posts on here about l322 water ingress.
PS I am just filling in here waiting for more knowledgeable peeps to arrive .

I'm in a huff and even if they are likely wrong, I'm not giving making any suggestions, as to solutions, as I wasn't included in the group ask.:p

Your unit may be shot. The laser alignment goes and it keeps trying and trying. That is my guess. I would swap out a Nav IV and upgrade the SW.

Ok Everyone,
I've opened up the satnav unit and it has water damage inside on the circuit board right where the wiring goes to the LED light on the front of the unit
I used contact cleaner and cleaned it as best I could but it still stays lit
Can this be repaired?
Many thanks

Can you provide pics? As an interim solution can you just unplug the satnav so the battery doesn't drain?

Is Redhill in the UK? I am pretty sure I still have my old unit (Mark III I think) I could mail from Minnesota, but if in the UK it would not be worth it. If you know anyone stateside that is traveling I can mail it to them - I would figure $10 should cover it.

Luke, I will be in the states in about a week. How big and heavy is it? If it'll fit in my case and we can get it to Fort Payne alabama in time, I'm happy to bring it back to the UK and forward it on at cost of postage.
That is of course, unless it is 10kg and the size of an oven!

I have to get my daughter to a soccer match today, futbol in the UK, but when I return I will dig it out of the garage. I will then send you the part number and any relevant info to make sure you want it.

If Wazzajnr will bring it for you that would be cheapest and easiest. I should be able to ship it to Fort Payne for around $10-20, depending on how fast it has to ship.

If you want it and can use it - then shipping is all I ask.

Hi again
That's very kind of you -I tend to give stuff away to rangerover owners aswell
I'm very interested in it and I've looked up re shipping to the UK and it works out @ 50 usd Inc tax so I wouldn't mind paying the shipping direct to myself
I would obviously wire the postage to yourself
If you're ok with that
Luke
