Howdo all,

First post here so be gentle.

I've just signed up for my very first RR and looking forward to collecting sometime over the weekend or early next week. It's an '03 TD6 Vogue.

My Question: The dealer says he has changed the SatNav entertainment box and screen as the old one had pixel issues but the Navigation option is not showing. He says the car doesn't have a SatNav but I was under the impression that all Vogues had one.

Is it just a matter of obtaining a disc and reinstalling?

Your thoughts appreciated.

Sounds like a plan ;)

Seriously though, the sat nav on my Nokia 925 is superb and will obviously do the job but I thought since the car has one...

Sat nav and electronics failures are common due to water leaks in the N/S rear quarter. Look in the boot, if it has what looks like a CD unit, it should have sat nav.
Expensive to replace, so may have been bypassed if it failed.

In typical BMW fashion, they give you a vehicle and and options list...

The majority of Vogues will have SatNav, as the model came as standard with it...but that is not to say the original order was for a Vogue but remove SatNav....wierd but possible....

Or someone has stuck a Vogue badge on the back!

If the drives failed it wont register on on the screen. Have a look behind the panel and see what youve got. If youve got the MK3 CD unit, you will want to upgrade that to the later MK4 unit identified by DVD on the front.

Thank you all for the response, much appreciated.

I don't have the car yet (hopefully tomorrow) but I'll be sure to check out the unit, with a view to upgrading in the future.

I do have another question but I'll start a new thread for that..... NEWBIE ALERT!! :p

The Range Rover Buyers Golden Rule....

Never ever buy a Range Rover with a fault unless you are prepared for and appreciate the potential costs, time, frustration and heartache involved in repairing it....

A Range Rover in fault can empty a healthy bank balance rapidly and end relationships....they are a hobby, not a conveyance, aslong as you understand and can live with that, then a Range Rover is the car for you....if you can't live like that, Range Rover ownership is not for you!

:D

Rest assured I've not gone into this with my eyes shut. I've seen the hundreds of horror stories out there, but, if you look close enough, you will also see the many thousands of owners that have seriously fallen in love with their cars and wouldn't dream of driving anything else.

Fingers crossed I'll become one of the latter as my budget simply won't allow me to be one of the former.
