Hello, My Sat nav on my L322 2004 is working but the voice is distorted. I have tried another unit but it was the same. Does anybody have any ideas please. Could it be the speaker?

Thanks for the quick response. It has had a problem and having solved the leak at the rear (new seal fitted) and a replacement Amp which worked in the donor vehicle this is where I am at. The mapping etc works. The Radio and tape work perfectly since the replacement.
I have a separate issue with the CD player (new cassette stuck in it and loss of power) This doesn't even feature now on the menu. It goes from radio tape and back to radio. This will have to go into the dealers for repair I think.
Back to the Sat Nav, I have checked the Amp terminals and they look okay. If it was that would the radio and tape still sound okay? Someone said it could be the speaker which they say is the one on the top of the dashboard. Perhaps I should have kept my Defender 110 XS (2005 model) Too many wires for me!

bust speaker is deffo a possibility...trouble is getting to it...and the cd unit....is a bugger!

cd units do fail...mine has so I ignore it now!!!

Sounds like the radio module to me otherwise known as the BM54. These are notorious for failing amplifier chips leading to distortion and eventually loss of sound.

Maybe you have it set on Donald Duck mode. If it ever says at the next right hand turn, turn left it's really screwed. :D:D
