Hi everyone!
Can anyone assist me in fixing my sat nav computer on my 2001 p38?
I am assuming that when a previous owner had a flat battery they jump started the car without disconnecting the sat nav and would appear to have blown the computer up! I was wondering if this is an easy fix if I get the components and was able to solder? Has anyone fixed one of these units themselves before or should I bite the bullet and send it off for repair or buy a replacement unit?
Many thanks

When i got my 2001 p38 the sat nav wasnt working. i had a fiddle around and got it to fire up ok. Really isnt worth the trouble. Remember pcs and stuff from the 90s? were great at the time but look like sht now. P38 satnav is the same, to call it basic is being kind. If its gonna cost you any money at all i wouldnt bother, go spend it on a tomtom or somthing similar.

Hi discomalc
Many thanks for the quick reply! I get ur point about not bothering and I have a tom-tom already! If possible I would like to repair the on board sat nav but I certainly won't be throwing any money at it, I would just like to know if they are easy to fix? If the alternative is to pay for a new drive/computer then it will stay broken! Lol would it be easy to fit an upgraded system from a newer range rover?
Many thanks
Dave

probably be a nghtmare to repair, replacement would be the easiest option look out for a late model breaking on ebay and see what they want for one, dont think they are in great demand. Newer system rums from DVD not cds so compatibility might be a problem, newer still from hard drives but talking silly money for them.
