Quick update - its bone dry up there. Never seen it so barren. Only water found all day was the ford on the old Marlborough Road and that was only 6 inches deep at most.

Checked the SPTA newsletter and was due to be a non firing day on Larkhill/Westdown so hoped to do the byways across the range. Sadly the flags were up, and the recorded phone message was over a month out of date. We were as much there for the views and to see what wildlife we could spot as for the laning so was still a good day out. No mud on the car but the inside is now a lovely dust colour!!

Very nice pub lunch in the Rose and Crown at Tidworth (the one with the badly painted picture of William and Kate as their pub sign).
