anyone thinking about heading out on the plain in the next few weeks? not been out in ages and need to get my tyres dirty again

Was very dry last weekend not a deep puddle in sight, was good to get to Imber for the first time.

Where's the best place to start on the Plain and and to get to Imber ?
Not to sure I want to go down the well overgrown tracks we went down last time though, don't think my paintwork could handle that again :(
Just want a track which isn't too scratchy ??

an os map would be the best place to start ;)

@blue beasty
That's why I'm asking you lot :p

On the explorer os 130/131/118/143/129 cover pretty much all round there and beyond! Depends 130/118 have a large crossover section and all depends which sections of lanes you want.
A lot of plains are on red flag at mo as the army have big exercise on this week and next.
I'd recommend doing the ox drove and surrounding lanes, nearly all of those are open apart from one that comes up onto the exercise track for the 'osses :)

@forgottenpoppy
Thanks for the advise. Which map/maps would I need to do the ox drive and roughly where does it start from ?
Thanks again

Ox drove starts tollard royal area you're best off getting all of those maps, as they all have lanes on them
Just do what I did sit cross legged on waterstones floor with all the maps spread across the floor pick the ones you like!
Off the top of my head couldn't tell you as it goes across two maps
