i know it might be a bit risky in attracting undesirables, but what about having a dedicated heading for selling/ exchanges? whether it be complete vehicles, components or just related stuff. to avoid being used as another outlet by sharks et al, or the wider community, could restrict the access to regular members who have served their time in here; 25 posts min and /or 3 months membership? should keep thing fairly tidy.

I am currently looking into a system for allowing sales/exchanges. I like the idea of limiting it to people with minimum posts to avoid sharks. The system will be implemented when we have a larger membership base.

that's terrific news. don't know how you'd implement the restrictions of access - perhaps even limit it to those above jnr member status - but accywingy says you're a wiz with software! site keeps getting better, roy. hat's off....

I also think this would be another great idea because it will improve members to get involved with other members, but agree with having to have at least 25 posts before your allowed to sell/exchange anything, is there anymore members from scotland`yet ? how many members are there now joined ? can anyone ask more people to join or is it up to "THE A TEAM " only .:)

I agree i think its a great idea..
As for membership numbers we are now @ 39,and if you want somebody to join, point them this way!!!n The more the merier!

How about getting some kinda car stickers to advertise the site ,like some of the boy racers who advertise there paint jobs etc on the side / back windows of there cars like EG. www.landyzone.co.uk even find the cost of them and the members could even help there somewhere ,it's not about money it's about advertising the site that way we'll get more to join us " Who said scots are tight fisted ". I might be stepping out of line here by asking the other members to pay for the stickers !!!!!!!!!!

great idea beastie. I've found somewhere that can get us some car stickers made, just need the designing bit to be done :) And we need a decent slogan....

speaking as a fellow scot...WHOA WILSON!!!!!!!!!

only kidding. being a warm, generous soul from glasgow i have no problem with that. (for the record; just as scots are misconceived the world over as being mean and miserable when parting with cash, so also are those from the north-east of the country [ie aberdeen] by the rest of the country. no truth whatsoever. completely unfounded. by the way wilson, are yer tea bags dry yet?)

but on a more serious note, it's a very good idea.

hey roy, how about just the name? a narrow car sticker doesn't afford much opportunity for a catchy credo. i think the name is catchy enough, reasonably self-descriptive and will be easily remembered. if you like we can still think up some slogans.

I think something like ...www.landyzone.co.uk in just plain white letters maybe across the back window maybe ?? this will let others see it better " AS LONG AS NOBODY RUNS INTO YOU " I 'm not sure what other members think , we need to keep it classy and not cheep looking because were not " a run of the mill " site , I'm looking for some replys from all members please .It's just a bit of fun , what other landy site have you seen doing this.......lets us be the first well maybe;)

Ps. Struy "I DINNA HING OOT MY BAGS TI DRY ":D

yeah, just plain will work i am sure. Anyway, I'd still like some slogans for the banners ads that are being drawn up... :)

think you have hit nail on head, wilson...'classy' we are. we don't need cheese to sell this terrific site. it's straight forward, dependable and extremely capable. do those qualities seem familiar...?

back to original thread however; i was thinking that over and above having official links from the Zone, could we have a 'members' recommended URLs' thingy going on? would you want those URLs associated with repairs/parts etc located in the proposed 'sales and exchanges' section for example? or all topics lumped together, ie a comprehensive list of useful URLs? or am i starting to give you too much work, roy?! tell me to wheesht anytime

Why not just print off your logo on some decent quality paper

Attached is a very quick example, plus I couldn't name the font you used.

nice one neal! thats a good start! :)

@struy, members recommended urls sounds good as well... added to the list. Maybe a seperate forum for that, but to post an URL you must write something about the site as well, not just an url per post... sounds good.

Are you guys all computer buffs " I DINNA KEN FIT A URL IS " :)........Struy explain the quote and let me know fit a URL is please coz I'm no computer whiz kid.....

Wilson

see those highlighted wee underlined web site names every now and then? ie, you type in a web site and it automatically highlights itself, which if you click on, will bring up the page. that's a URL.
and wilson, how much do i owe you for 'whiz kid' comment?! don't tell roy, in case he thinks i might be able to help him out, then blows my cover and i get found out for being 'comp whiz kid fraud'

Nice one you guys, how come I missed this thread for so long ?
Go for a simple www.landyzone.co.uk - like the man said, simple, self descriptive and classy.
As for being tight with money, forget it you Scots, there's this place between Lancashire and the East coast where they all squeek when they walk...........He.He.

Shhh we are gonna be giving them our money tomorrow at driffield!
That reminds me i must raid the monopoly game bank and find my passport for border control

As they say " What has been thought of by a scot " ALMOST EVERYTHING ...Am I being brave saying that " GULP " !!!!!!!! goodluck on your day at Driffield accywingy.
