in case anyone is interested, i did a bit f research about fire prevention systems. there is a company by the name of LIFELINE. Fire Extinguishers and Fire Suppression Systems.

they offer 2 systems for the RR, and 2 versions of each system. the code numbers and prices are below. i have the PDF files to go with them and will email to anyone that wants them. they have up to 4 spray nozzles for passenger compartment and engine bay. they offer manual or automatic systems and they have been used in top class motorsports for years. might be worth spending the money up front to save another loss.

Morning David,

You have 2 to choose from either the 4.0ltr AFFF foam system or the 2.25kg gas system. It all depends on your budget if you have on and how much is the vehicle worth.

I have attached the data sheets for you and pricing below. You will need to add £13.75 carriage (up to 20kg) and VAT to the below.

102-400-001 Zero 2000 FIA 4.0ltr Fire Marshal Mechanical - Steel Cylinder £214.20
102-400-002 Zero 2000 FIA 4.0ltr Fire Marshal Mechanical - Aluminium Cylinder £346.15

104-225-001 Zero 360 FIA 2.25kg Novec 1230 Stored Pressure Mechanical £509.40
104-225-002 Zero 360 FIA 2.25kg Novec 1230 Stored Pressure Electric £625.15

Kind regards

There are legal restraints of carrying a 9kg extingushe in a passenger vehicle i beleave. Or so my old firm told us. may have been a ploy for management not to bring them out but makes sence.
In a boating mag few years ago the was a report of a crew breaking up a ship, old extingusher being moved, exploding and removing lump of chaps leg.

could well be. i would go for the 2.25kg system. it has 6 spray nozzles, 4 for the engine bay, and 2 for the inside.

there is also a much cheaper system for VW Kamper vans, around £60. but that is only 1kg.

a lot of money i know, but so is a Traker system. wonder if the insurance companies would load the premium knowing you had a fire precaution system, or be clever and lower it knowing it has less chance of being fired if stolen.

Had call from insurance company today and told me their payout offer. Fairly pleased but would still have my range.
