Hi jp

picture 1 taken in pub car park as that was the last lane we done on sunday, but we came down hill, well rutted!!!!
maybe up hill next time.
many thanks for your help.

muddy wheeler:D

ho yeh!
I can see the gap on the trees behind where the lane is...

awww...you should have done it uphill! :)

good to know you guys enjoyed it

hi JP
that track up from the pub looks a bugger up hill lots potholes with tree roots get your wheels on them spinning and no grip:eek: then when you join the bit by the shooting ground a nasty gully to grab you but i try it in the new year!!!!

we went a bit further down the road and took another lane to go up but cound not make it muddy wheeler kept spinning it a flat start with sharp incline so greasey

so took the easy way up where the perimeter path starts where the dog walkers go!!;)

You did the opposite we do...

usually we go up the lane near the pub and come down that lane you have on the first pic..

Did you go up to the lane near Alton that I mentioned?

If you are talking about the lanes I think you're talking about.......then I would say that is the easiest route.

Last time I was on those lanes the second one you mention was only do-able with a rear locker in the winter. In the summer time a little momentum works if you have open diffs.

Two years ago I was course closing car on the SCOR Randonee and the route went down the tricky one and back up by the pub.

The lane that goes up from the pub is pretty bad now compared to earlier this year...
When we went there around June, a mate made it all the way up with completly standard disco on road tyres...

but since then its all rutted now...no way he could go up now.

Really!? From what I remember that was by far the easier of the two; certainly the one 'round the corner' has been stepped and rutted for as long as I've known it.
