has anyone had their discovery recalled for Break Vacuum Assistance System fault, what did they find when you took it to be checked. Mine is booked in and has just developed spongy breaking and loss of break fluid

This is basically a valve failing in the brake vacuum system, causing the servo to be contaminated with oil.

Working at a dealer, i've seen the worst of them, and they very rarely cause any real issue, unless you've covered some serious miles!

You probably need the brake pipes at the back looking at - Very Soon. Book it in ASAP.

I've seen a couple now where they are very bad. The pipes are steel and corrode, and also the rubber pipes are not very good either. There are 2 pipes which run along the near side chassis. These are a pig to change on the earliest ones, as despite what the workshop manual says, there is only one connection of them which is on the bulkhead and impossible to reach without removing everything in the engine bay. The later models (not sure at which point they changed but I suspect 06 plate) have a connector down in line with the cat which is far more accessible. The pipes are cheap enough.

I think we used copper pipes on the last one we did , and made them up ourselves.
