i have recently fitted a safari snorkel to my td5 could anyone tell me how it works exactly because im a bit of o novice and what depth of water is safe to wade in thanks

If you fitted the Safari properly It will be sealed.

You can wade upto about 6" below the top of the snorkel if you like. Its not recommended though. And as daft says, your TD5 will stop in the water long before this happens.

Assuming the ECU was kept dry you'd probably drown before you flooded the snorkel.
I watched an episode of Scrapheap Challenge where they drove completely under water using scuba gear with no problems.

have a look and tell us wot ECM variant you have (its under seat) and should have a number on it.

so how do u keep the ecu dry

You buy a wiring kit on ebay to run all the wiring go up the pilar pod and up on the ceiling and you seal it there in a waterproof box. It is not particularly good loking but if you intend to go in the water that deep that would be the safest place to keep the ECU dry.
