Guys help! My S3 has decided it doesn't want to play! For no reason it appears not to want to start. Battery is great. I've changed coil, condenser, points, rotor arm, but I've got no spark either on the plugs or on the points. I'm just wondering whether it could be the ignition barrel? Any assistance or feedback would be much appreciated.

have you checked the output side of he coil, if so, check the wire from the coil to the distributor

Hi Yella, without wishing to sound stupid (and I probably do!) The wire coming thru' the bulkhead connected to the coil is live with the ignition switch on, the wire on the other side is "dead" Cheers Ned

I know this sounds stupid but when my early series 2a wouldnt start I found I connected the battery the wrong way round, because I forgot it was positive earth. The engine turned the right way but the coil did not produce any current.
Just a thought! :)

I had a new dizzy then had no end of probs as above, it was the new wire from the dizzy to the coil, ****e wire, kept breaking so worth a check - as yella says!
