The 3 position switch for off-side- headlight failed. It began not to turn off properly and needed wiggling.
New switch bought from Bearmach via eBay and fitted. Works. But now its off- headlights - sidelights. Which is the wrong order.

Switch has 4 wires. Two are thin and go to top and bottom terminals. Two are thicker and go into the middle terminals. I replicated what was on the old switch. I’ve also tried reversing the top and bottom wires as well as reversing the middle thicker pair. Same result - headlight is on in the middle position.

My only conclusion is the switch terminals are wired differently to the original....right? Do I move the thicker wires to the outside and thinner wires to the middle? Or am I just being thick and missing something here?

Thanks!

These any help to you.

Hey, thanks for these. The dash wiring diagram helped me sort it out. I had got one of the power wires on the wrong terminal. I thought I’d looked properly when removing the old switch but on installing the new one I put the blue wire on the inboard terminal, but the diagram showed it should have been on the outer.
Very pleased to have that satisfying double clunk as the lights go on working properly.
