Guys/Girls any help welcomed as im a complete amateur……just replaced fuel pressure regulator on year 2000 Disco 2 td5, since we have owned it, it has always been VERY sluggish in 1st and 2nd with no real turbo until maybe 2800 rpm……did notice EGR Solenoid valve is disconnected and plug taped up (I guess an uninstall) anybody got any ideas??

You need to be specific. Explain precisely what you think is wrong with your D2. So far all you've mentioned is that 1. it's sluggish, 2. you've changed a fuel regulator, 3. EGR connector is...not connected.

Precisely, what is wrong with your vehicle.

It sounds like MAYBE his turbo is suffering massive lag, or is at least semi-fecked.
Well it could be the turbo, or it could be too much back pressure caused by a blocked exhaust/cat or conversely anything between the air filter box, turbo and the intake valves could also be partially blocked. Collapsed pipes, blocked intercooler etc.
Let others jump on now.

Mine was very sluggish until someone advised to check the fuel filter. Sounds odd I know but it freed mine up and made a massive difference. I’m not suggesting this will work for your truck but it did for mine.
