Having suspected for some time that my Freelander was knackered I did some investigating a couple of months ago. My Freelander is running RWD and so I thought the IRD must have gone u/s. Now I'm wondering if the driveshafts have shed their splines or whether the front diff has gone. Has anyone got any ideas??

Needless to say I'm a bit grumpy as I need the 4WD in the snow but I'd forgotten how much fun RWD was (Ford Cortina days many years ago).

Ha yes but I quite like it really - it's got the toys I want in a car and I don't mind it getting a knock or two in the car park at work. Just needs 4wd now!!
