I'm picking up my 1st Landy this afternoon

The chassis is in really good condition but I want to keep it that way. If I steam clean or jet wash it then remove the loose surface rust in a few places what is the best thing to put on? Is hammerite any good under the car? I will wasoyl it later but I just want to stop it getting in a bad way.

well i thined some hammerite down and sprayed it on the chassis of mine suprisingly it pretty dam waterproof and all the mud from yesterday has washed off ,
