So went from the alloys to a set of steel boots I had, had to get a set of steel wheel nuts.

The local LR indi garage only had Britpart nuts so I took a set.

Couple of months down the line they have a thin layer of rust on the surface, ok no big deal just looks ****e.

I could paint them but that will get destroyed if I go near them with a wheel brace.

I was wondering if any other surface treatment apart from a rust stabilizer is out there?

Cheers if anyone has a any advice (apart from get a proper LR set)

I have the same issue but they aren't Britpart nuts. Not sure what brand they are, to be honest. When I first put them on, they looked sharp with the black wheels, but quickly began to rust away. Like you, I thought about painting them or treating them. In the end, I bought a set of genuine LR ones from RImmer Bros for £35.

I had bought a set of stainless ones but that just doesn't look right on black wheels.
