They are worth saving is why
Nice got a friend of mine who does DIY welding he is doing sills for my as I am crap at that sort of thing. That is terrible for a P38..
Time to get the Mig out
My P38 is the most cursed on hereA bit harsh but probably true
Hi mate ok great if you got his details please?
I will have to get it done with someone as looking at it further way beyond my capabilities
Afternoon All,
I have some very troublesome rust on the rear wheel arches to the point where it needs to be cut out and new piece welded in. However I cannot seem find a pattern or original rear quarter panel and welding skills are not good enough to shape sheet metal without taking it to a body shop. As the panel is part of the main body as such, I assume, which is why you cannot buy a panel.
Just wanted to ask who has tackled this before DIY and how did they get over it?
Also the front panels are oxidising and need doing, has anyone tackled these please?
I was going to ask some scrappers to cut out a rear panel and cut/piece it in but never know what you are going go get.
Thanks.
It spent most of its life in Scottish Highlands 15 years of that and neglect but it's all solvable just a matter of how much.
The cills under the chassis need re-welding aswell.
Or it's been used to launch boats/jetski'sIt is the salt. That's what happens when you don't wash it off underneath. I've bought a low pressure jetwash just for that reason.
Wow thats bad for a P38. looks more than just the top skin too, sorry.
I thought P38's were alledgedly highly rot resistant
Clues might be in the car's past history?
