Hi Folks

Now I have my 04 Disco I thought it might be a good idea to rust proof it in some way. The electronic route would seem not to work due to the physics being flawed for cars. What would anyone suggest as an alternative? Has anyone used a service or company to help with rust?

I rubbed mine back, gave it a coat of red oxide, then used Hammerite Underbody seal with added Waxoyl. Really good durable finish, would highly recommend. Screwfix sell a good red oxide.

some people paint their old engine/axle oil on the chassis... costs the price of an oil change to get the materials.

Im a mechanic and mot tester an i hate fookers who do that i get covered in the **** when doing anything on them, cooonts.:mad:
 
I agree with oldskool, causes one hell of a mess. Whatever you decide to do, just remember that the more prep you put in, the more protection you'll get in return!

Funny you should say that cos' both MOT tester's where I take the Disco have told me to keep my old oil and paint it over chassis etc, then again they do own landy's too;)
