Hi
My Series 3 swb 2.25 petrol is running so rich it chokes everyone within 10 feet of it!.
I have used a carb rebuild kit on the Zenith, although it runs a little better there was no real change in the amount of fumes produced.
The mixture screw is fully wound in and it will start for cold with no choke at all. If I apply choke it stalls.

Any idea's wiser members?

sounds like the carb is buggered.
can u you borrow another carb, just to try?
(get the correct one for the engine).

Refurb kit no good IMHO.

Try a new carb. New carbs cost about £80 - I paid this for a professional overhaul. The transformation has to be seen to be believed.

Carbs wear a little bit everywhere - which all adds up. The repair kits only deal with a proportion of this wear.

Don't throw the carb away though. They can be overhauled by 'Carburetteur Exchange' in Leighton Buzzard:

I have taken your advice and bought a new carb.
What a difference!!!!
I can see the rear of the landy now when its running and have put my matches away.
