I run my 1989 172,000 mile rat look ghetto cruiser on veg oil and petrol (bosch pump) and it runs fine

What do we have on here, A bunch of Landyzone Lawyers? The peep just want to save some money on over priced fuel, and white spirit and heating oil is taxed WITH VAT.

This is such a dead horse issue of what is legal and not. If you think you might get caught then don't do it.. But I don't think driving your personnel fender you will have a problem. You probably stand a better chance of getting struck be lighting first

I've had me tank dipped twice in the last 3 years

Mind you it was just a visual with a squeezy bottle and clear pipe........admit to being nervous cause I knew what was in there but they were just looking for red.

I do remember hearing somewhere that kerosene looks alot like diesel...

Kerosene is clearer than diesel and mineral spirits is clear

could you answer my question please
I did not say it's legal. Just slim to none of getting caught. Know just admit it everyone breaks laws everyday, it's the ones they chose. Didn't use turn signal on lane change, exceed speed limit by 3mph, following to close,

Know Sean lets not start a ****in match:D

Let me clear this up

- It is legal to run your vehicle on chip fat up to 2,500 ltrs per year, you are told to keep a log but very few do.

- It is legal to run on any mixture of liquids when they are "Fuel duty" tax paid, Vat is not the issue, fuel duty is on any liquid fuel used to propel a vehicle (X pence per litre)

- If you run on new chip fat , you "should" declare as you buy it that is is not for food use and pay VAT but no chance of being caught for that.

- Mixing whte spirit or other thinning product is technically not legal because fuel duty is not paid on the white spirit, but if you thin with petrol you are clear.

- Running on the red stuff or heating oil you run the risk of loosing yer vehicle, on chip fat you do not 4 sure up to 2,500 litres and the dipping guy ent gona ask for your litre count log. Will he care if you have mixed it with a thinning product, prob not, but frankly petrol works fine.

- last time i was dipped, he did'nt even spot the 2nd tank with fat in it, but he did spot the smell of fat in the tank cos on change over the return du,ps some fat in the diesel tank.

Not a lawer, just love my sII enough to want to be sure no gov storm trooper takes it from me, or tries.

in summer 100% veg, in winter i go to about 15% but as long as you have the oil well heated and your pump is Bosh pattern you should be ok on 100%, the lucas pattern pump in the issue when the oil is thick, it strugles, as well as getting smooth running.

There are guys running on lard, but again well heated its ok. In the past when VEG still attracted fuel duty, lard did not bacause it was not liquid at normal temps. There are a few internet groups cover all this in more detail, hell next door runs his house bioler on veg, problem is he has to drink at so many pubs to keep his supply up, his beer bill is large, Oh sorry, thats not a problem.
