Hi guys + girls i have a 97 discovery v8i the problem is it takes a good few miles for it to heat up, other jeeps i have had used to be fine after a mile or so, what could be wrong or is this normal for the v8 engine, thanks

Hi, if it is taking ages to heat up then your thermostat is sticking in the open position. You could get a piece of cardboard and put it in between the front grille and the radiator, if it warms up quicker with that in place then it's deffo a stuck thermostat.

Hi sorry i should have said after driving six miles or more its still on the cold side ie temp gauge just moveing off bottom mark

Hi i just gave it run and after 4 mile the temp was just below half way and the heater did not seem to be that hot is this normal

doesnt sound normal heaters s'pose to get hot, check the water in the header tank, cud be faulty thermostat or thermostat been removed? procees of elimination
