supposedly, yes - from un-burnt fuel getting into the cat - but what other choice do you have?! and if you've run out of fuel, there isn't any getting to the engine anyway until it fires!
the low fuel light came on while my wife was using it. later on i was turning it round to put it on the drive, it coughed and spluttered then stopped. it hasnt started since. i've put 10 litres of petrol in but i think it must be something else.
Just a thought, but you could try and take the fuel pipe off and turn it over see if the fuel is getting through. It would at least rule out one possibility.
i've read that some injection petrol engines have pressurised fuel systems. if the fault is'nt fuel related would'nt just disconecting the fuel pipe create another problem?
