Probably can't make things any worse, might have been worth seeing if there is shrapnel in the oil beforehand, but if it keeps the beast going it's worth a try. Just be ready to spend the big moolah when you get down to doing the job proper.
I found a gearbox in the south of Scotland, 80p. What would it cost to shift a lump like that to France?? Dhl wanted £795!! Holy duck...

At thirty two to the gallon! it would cost me more in diesel and toll fees!
Driving steadily I get 600 miles to a tank. £100 a tank (near enough). Maybe £600 round trip? How far is it?!
We are just north of Bordeaux in France and the gearbox is the south of Scotland..not just a day out!! Other wise we could go together;-)
