If they are the injector spill pipes, best to use fuel hose which is more often then not, fabric coated for protection. (size escapes me - Wammers will know)....can be had at any decent motor/auto factors

Now I know that I have one which I can see that is split and spewing fuel everywhere. Question is if there are more of them that have split could it be a cause for quite a lot of fuel dripping underneath?
It was only yesterday that I finally found time to pop the bonnet and until then and seeing the split hose/tube I was thinking that the ruddy injector pump (which was reconed only 2 years ago) was on the brink.

Do not get the Island stuff. It is crap. So thin it is almost see-through. You need decent stuff like Bosch or you'll be doing it every six months.

By any chance do you know what the proper name for the hose you mention so that I can hunt some down on the Internet as I am in Portugal.
Sorry. No idea as I got it off Dopey's mate. If you go to a BMW place or local motor factors and get some generic pipe the right diameter it should be OK but just make sure it is nice and thick rubber. Cannot remember the internal diameter but it was something like 1.2mm. Take an old piece as a sample!
They are leak off hoses or spill pipe but it'll be sold as diesel fuel pipe or similar.
It is standard spill pipe and is 1/8" ID. 3.2 mm ID for those who follow froggie measurements. There is a lot of crap about. You need stuff with tight braiding. If you can rub the end of the pipe with a finger and the slack wooly braiding comes away don't use it. But if you are forced to use sub standard stuff or even for good stuff put a length of heat shrink tube on each end, about half an inch will do and shrink it on to hold the end together, and stop the pipe from splitting.
