Hi,

Can anyone please tell me the part number for the rubber cover/membrane that is riveted to the body (gearbox tunnel) and screws to the shifter housing?

If anyone has one laying around i can aquire/purchase that would be great!

Also, any advice on how i can have one fitted properly with a 2" body lift?

Many thanks

i think i remeber looking into this a while back and either it was no longer available or it was stupidly expensive, like over 100 quid expensive.

i was looking fr the sealing rings that seal around the gearlevers.

not tried it with a bodylift but have you though about fitting it upside down to allow for the lift?

cheers

Have thought of fitting it on the underside to help with the lift, but it will only gain me a few mm. Had an idea to cut the piece of the tunnel out of another disco to use as a spacer on the underside.

I guess i really need to find a disco being broken if you think the bits are silly money.

The only reason i need to find one is that the previous owner took a stanley knife to it instead of properly sorting it.

Ah well thought I would ask lol
Not paying £210 for new ones cos I'm not even sure if mine are knackered.
Though with 240,000 miles on clock and nothing in the service history to say they been changed would probably be a good idea.

Maybe you misread mate: i said consider fitting the gaiter UPSIDE DOWN is with the boots pointing downwards.

This will achieve the same effect pretty much but gain you your extra few inches.

You could do with a spare though, cos then you can cut out the sections you need to seal the top of the transmissions, and then use a new one upside down to seal the tunnel aperture itself.

Perhaps not the easiest thing to understand if youre not getting what I'm trying to explain! :(

Thank you Mr noisy, I now understand what you mean about using it upside down.
I will take a look when next working on it, but can't remember if the outline shape is symetrical or not.

The mad hat man - do you think you could let me know what you would want for that rubber cover? I have a breakers yard close to me, but not sure when i will next be popping in.

Cheers
