Hi all,

A question relating to RRS 2011 rear ARC sway bar.

Mine has developed a slight weep from the long bar side seal.

Forgiving the obvious reply’s about high pressure hydraulics and don’t try it, has anyone found a seal kit for these before (I have specialised in high pressure hydraulics for a long time so I’m happy enough to attempt it). Can it even be split down? The ring of bolts looks like it can but it also looks like it’s been press sealed so in that case, probably not.

I don’t have anything to lose by trying it prior to buying a new one.
Just wondered if anyone has tried or if it’s a completely sealed unit.

secondly, I’ve heard you can replace the sway bar by just lifting the body a bit, has anyone done this and how much do I need to disconnect to just lift the rear by a bit (as in, can I omit the front end disconnections) I have a 2 poster and could do the full body split but it looks like you only need a few inches to get the bar out.

Thanks.

Wow, sounds like your going to be a pioneer with this one. @gstuart what's your thoughts? :)

hi mate

alas haven’t seen any seal kits , however know there have been attempts at repairing them to no avail , some really dangerous , I’ll PM u the details as won’t say it on an open forum

Think the cheapest I’ve seen some of this anti sway bars are around £800 each , have also seen some buy a bypass kit totally doing away with the Ace system

Hi mate, thanks for the reply. Yeah I figured it was not a done thing due to the lack of seal kits available.
I’ll buy a new one and fit it over the weekend, I don’t see the point of bypassing it personally but each to their own, I guess the expense of some of the parts make it prohibitive to repair older models.

I’m going to break down the old unit for a bit of a fact finding quest when I get a bit of a chance.
Thanks again for the info.
