Hello.....again!

My 1987 RRC seems to be stuck in High ratio.

I can get the difflock no problem, but I can't move the lever forward at all.

I googled the problem with no joy, but did read a thread about a similar problem on a disco which was caused by a solenoid on the transfer box.

Is this likely to be the problem on mine???????

thought they were on a linkage like the disco, plenty of plusgas and get physical with the lever, might just be stuck because of lack of use. (unless it's electric then just ignore me)

Just siezed through lack of use. Give the linkage and joints a good soak with WD or Plus and as mentioned, give it some large. It can take a bit of time but it will free off eventually. I had to hit mine with a mallett to get any movement.

Its funny, the more I look at this Rangie the more I find needs doing.

Welcome to the money pit club!! my to do list seems to be never ending!lol A good few white knucles will help free it off. Mine gets stuck occaisionally and i stick the main box in neutral with the engine running and it seem to help a bit!

Thanks for the input.

As suggested I got it moving today using brute force and ignorance. Managed to break the knob thingy off in my hand but hey ho!!

I find lubicant applied to parts now and again has a wonderful affect on their functionality.
