It's diseased6.5 litre diesel V8
Certainly didn't get 5 doors in the 70sCertainly doesn't look like a 1970 - though it could have had a body swap I suppose.
And the leather seats. I had a 1972 with a full width rear seat and the vinyl had gone brittle and disintegrated. My idea was to do a body swap from a 1991, but I ended up getting a new hobby before I even started and it ended up just sitting in a yard for about 5 years slowly deteriorating until I sold it for almost twice what I paid for it!Certainly didn't get 5 doors in the 70s
And the chassis. That won't be 70s either, would be too short. Given its MOT history, i best the body and chassis were replaced, along with the running gear then the vin plate put back on.And the leather seats. When they brought out the 5 door, they made it lwb. Not sure if the swb is the same lengthThe 1970s chassis was shorter? Thank feck I didn't attempt the chassis swap on mine then as that would have totally screwed me!!
I didn't know the 5 door were a longer wheel base. I know they made an LSE but I thought that had bigger back doors than my 5 door. When they brought out the 5 door, they made it lwb. Not sure if the swb is the same length

The chassis from 1970 to 1995 was identical the LSE had the 108in wheelbase which is shared with the P38, the length being the only thing, the P38 chassis is not related to the RRC chassis, thankfullyyou're right.. sorry, i was convinced the 5 door was longer!
