hi i have a 1992 rrc on which most of the electrics have stopped working ie radio-windows-heated seats-cig lighters i have checked all with a tester they all have a permanent live but no auxcillary live any help gratefully recieved,

That doesn't sound right.

When you say permanent live do you mean they have power on them even when the key is not in the ignition??

As far as I know Radio is wired to position 1 on the ignition switch, the others that draw more power are wired at position 2 (ignition on). You could have an earthing problem, a faulty ignition switch or somebody has been bodging the wiring.

the radio has 2 lives 1 permanent live and and auxcillary live which should operate when ignition is on but it dos,nt the same as everything else, the barrel is a new one and i have checked the connection and they are all ok

Not sure about heated seats but the others are on seperate circuits. try testing for a good earth on auxillary circuit.

most of the things you say arnt working all have the same earth.
I had same problem with mine after i fitted a new stereo, all worked for a while then nothing worked. it turned out the earth had gone missing (god knows how) an electrician friend sorted everything by putting in a new earth.
A way of testing is to remove the box from inside the centre console which will give access to the electric window relays, take out a relay and using a cable, bridge over the connector where the relay goes and a window should start to work.
