Good morning all

I have a 1995 RRC vogue with very worn out manual seats. I've since procured an entire SE soft dash from '94 which is comedy rotten but has an immaculate leather interior.

My loom comes wired for the heater elements in the leathers, but not the motor functions.

Now, I know there is a lot of stuff about making up your own collection of relays etc to hot wire the seats but since I have the complete loom from the donor vehicle, how easy would it be to simply add this to my loom? Does it connect under the dash somewhere or is it a complete re wire?

And yes it was wired for memory, too, all of which I have.

Alternatively, what's the easiest way to force them to work?! The comfort of them is a little diminished by being so far back from the wheel!!

I might have the 94 wiring diagrams at home so you can check!

Will check tonight...

Thanks guys - the donor vehicle is complete in every way so all I've done is unplugged the seats from the donor and bolted them down - temporarily - in mine without power.

All the ECU's and boxes etc are present as is the loom. I'm hoping that if I trace the sub loom for the seats through the centre console and into the dash that it will disconnect somewhere and I can then carry it across the drive, complete, and then connect it to mine, lay out the wiring and then plug the seats back in and voila!

I suspect it won't be that simple..?

Thanks Saint - any diagrams greatfully viewed! Seems there's lots of thoughts on this one, looking around the forum, but a bit of a lack of simple answers!

You need to check the seat ECU actually works. They fail because the internal battery leaks and destroys the board and some times the driver chips. Also, the memory seat ECU controls the electric mirrors IIRC. If the ECU is shot you can still use the seats but you'll need standard seat switches or fork out big bucks for a recon ECU which will NOT have the memory function. Working seat ECU's are quite a rarity and very expensive (relatively) IF you can find one. HTH.

Thanks Kev - I guess I'll get to that stage later! First off I just need to know if I can relatively easily add the sub loom to the main harness. Going to try and trace it up into the main dash and see what's what tonight.

I was told it all worked prior to being de-commissioned. The window ECU was fully functioning which is nice as I now have my back windows working again!

Hope the attached helps...(1993 and 1994 are the same!!)........

Thanks Saint - that's a brilliant resource there. I've traced the seat loom from both sides back into the main loom on the donor car, but it's not as simple as I'd hoped.

I'd been crossing my fingers for a connection into the loom but alas no. It's looking like it'll be a dash-out job to remove the sub harness in isolation and identify where it joins the main loom so I can add it onto my recipient vehicle.

Although I have to say since I have all the relays/fuses/connectors etc from the under seat loom I'm tempted to simply take 12v feed and bypass the ECU entirely.

Thoughts?

Cheers guys.

I'd bypass the ECU if it were me, one less thing to go wrong:)
