Hi all,

First post so please be gentle :)

I've got a 52 TD6 which I love but the engine just spoils it. It's so noisy - I had a go in a Disco3 and the engine was so much better it's scary. Don't get me wrong, the rest of the car isn't, for me, as classy as the RR but the engine was loads better.

Are there any sound proofing kits or any other advice?

It's so bad that I'm seriously considering selling it. If anyone fancies a swap for a V8 petrol, I might consider it!

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I remember when the TD6 first came out thinking what a wonderful smooth quiet diesel it was, then the Discovery 3 came out with the TDV6......
Don't know what the answer is though, apart from geting a TDV8!

Aye, the TDV8 would be perfect but too much for me at the minute.

The same engine as mine in the X5 is loads quieter. It's not really the performance that bothers me too much - just the bl00dy rattle! :)

Has anyone tried this noisekiller stuff or is it gonna make "The Bungalow" as it's known around here, even heavier for now gain? :)

Thought about doing it on my old Disco 1, never got around to it, but the company were very helpful.
