Long term brim to brim average over a ten year period on mine is 24 mpg. On the dash, depending on speed and conditions I have seen up to 31mpg which equated to a real 28mpg.

Mine is chipped in the ECU so gives a better figure at steady speeds in torque lock, but uses more around town. If you use the extra torque and BHP you use more fuel. They use a lot more tootling about town at 30 MPH than they do at 65 MPH. That is why i can never understand the lowering of speed limits to cut emissions. Maybe a point in manuals. It just don't work like that on automatics.

The new 80Kmh limit here is stupid IMO, I need to exceed the speed limit for long enough for the torque converter to lock up:rolleyes:

+1 on that Keith, if I do 84 kmh the gearbox will settle down. At 80 kmh it jumps up two gears and then settles down if you come to an incline... Damn garlic slingers!!!:mad::p

No one takes a blind bit of notice about the 80kmh limit where I am and the Gillets Jaune have removed many of the speed cameras:)
 
That's what its all about reduce speed limit so they can turn speed cameras on, just look at the so called smart motorways. Round South Yorks everyteam on M1 drop speed limit for emissions and wham cameras are on. Once again motorist easy income for governments.
 
My dad must have been unlucky to get a speeding ticket then!!
Where the cameras are working, there is little leeway, I got done for 72 kph in a 70 limit at midnight on a clear summer night with no traffic.:mad:

In France or UK? What vehicle?
France with my P38. A roadside warning showed me at 71kph about 500 metres before the radar, so I though I was OK. 70kph is difficult on the P38 as the width of the needle makes it hard to be precise, now I slow to an indicated 65:(

If they are that touchy in froglandia, it's a good job the off roaders over here with their silly bloody great wheels and tyres don't live there. :D:D

As far as I'm aware any non homologated change requires inspection and approval by the DRIRE. However MOT testers seem in some cases to turn a blind eye to mods. I wonder what happens with insurance in the case of an accident though.

Correct they do not comply with the road worthiness certificate issued to all new model vehicles. But nobody seems to care.
