Hey guys, this is my first winter with my belovid RR.

As i live very remote, up a 3 mile track that is lucky to see a tractor let alone a snow plough iam nervious about how well she will perform in the snow.

Ive had landys before which was always really good, can i expect the same results from my RR??

What do you think?

Just remember - If you have an auto (which most were) engine braking is not as good as your manual Land Rover, selecting '1' at low speed will help.
 
you could fit a plough to the front of it, just unbolt the bumper, 2 bolts, and slot the plough on the chassis in the same fashion!
 
Much of it down to the tyres. If you`ve got racing slicks on 22" rims don`t expect too much. 4 spinning wheels instead of just 1 or 2! But a reasonable set of off-road or dual purpose tyres `n` away you go. Datatek makes a good point tho`, when you start braking a 4X4 is much the same as a bog standard saloon. Tyres again.
 
Hi - I live up on Exmoor and last Feb we had about 2.5 feet of snow in one night. Still managed to get the RR out though - a bit of digging as a starter. I'd say the prior comments are spot on tyres - I had some AT's and stopping was quite exciting after the first freeze! :D

Exellent guys, thats what i wanted to hear. Iam just about to have new tyres fitted as the current road tyres are wearing thin and arent gona do any good.

Any recommendations for good AT's?
 
my classic was great in the snow at the beggining of the year even when towing big stuck mercs.
 
all depends what size wheels you have, if 18's id go for the toyo open county a/t fairly cheap and good chunky tread. 16's cant go wrong with general grabber, bfg m/t ets or even kingpin remoulds lol

Not sure what yours is, but P38s are a bit fussy with tyres. I'm running General grabbers A/T2s on mine (18 inch rims) and had no problems. They're quiet and good onroad too with none of the handling problems I had with the crappy Scorpion STRs.
