what do you suggest to clean it up, can i use a cleaner , will it do any harm if it leaks into the cylinder:(

That is NOT black diesel nor is it bacteria. That is oil from the turbo pipe. Make sure each inlet valve is closed by turning engine by hand to close them then swab out inlet tract with rags dipped in paraffin, blow out any excess with an air line. Remove all turbo pipes and clean them out. Remove intercooler and clean it out. Remove cam cover and clean out oil separator. Whilst you have turbo pipes off check turbo fan for axle play. Any play at all, replace turbo or have it refurbished. That is the result of years of neglect.

Right more work lol, would that stop it from starting (is the cylinders full of oil) where is the oil coming from? if i clean it all will i have to keep cranking to clear all the oil out?

If there is no air coming through the turbo pipes it would. Try starting it with manifold off make sure there is nothing about to get sucked in..

Is that the cause of the oil? would this stop it from running?

Yep the seal has gone in your turbo the oil that goes around your engine also lubrictes the turbo the turbo is now letting oil past into your tubo pipes and inter cooler collecting old soot dirt ect and pushing its way to your valves

Don't think so. If the turbo was leaking that much it would have gone to runaway by now. There maybe some leak from turbo but more likely to be from cam cover because oil separator is blocked and vent is not working properly. Due to serious neglect and lack of maintenance.

I guess it depends how bad if he's got all that other crap from tank and wasnt running full chat all this cranking he's been doing without starting not quite sure yet

It won't help with all that gunge going in from turbo where are you with fip is it running clean diesel yet are all your injector pipes clean are your injectors clean ??

Hi yes cleaned right thru to the injectors and then found the exhaust smoking like a pig then took off the inlet manifold and saw all that gunk,so its strip down time

Ok glad you got that side of it clean but I dought you will know if the actually injectors are working ie gummed up no spray no start plus you should of had manifold off ages ago when your were doing injector pipes as you wouldn't of been able to get to them.

Run it without the manifold and see if it still smokes as bad. The exhaust will be full of **** as well though. Clean out time.

Mm that must of been tight then as for the time of taking the manifold off (15 mins most) compaired to fiddling about with no room I would of had that off.

I know that now:D but hey we live and learn (normally the hard way with me), so lots of cleaning and try again
