4.0 v8 is same autobox that has 182hp.
Why a problem?

keep looking you will get one cash talks bull **** walks.I'm not in the trade, but suspect buying any decent Classic today for £3k is a pipe dream, unless the vendor is desperate to sell & the buyer has no idea what he/she is looking at

Further to my post, I do have an old sheepskin coat & a tweed cap
Having a good one myself I'm not in the market, but having owned four Classics I wouldn't waste the petrol travelling to view one priced at £3k. Good luck to anyone who lands such a bargain though.
So your saying it produces more than 340nm of torque!

The diesel torque curve is a bit aggressive for the box, so the ECU commands a torque reduction from the engine ECU when a shift is about to take place. A power box negates the torque reduction strategy as does chipping the ECU.

Think outside, no box required.
A popular swap is to put the stronger 4hp24 in.
It comes standard in the 4.6 which has in thor tune 214hp and 410nm.
It was so strong it was used on the 630R overfinch which had 403hp and over 550nm of torque..
They just tweaked the gearbox ecu and the valvebody to give faster shifts

No I wouldn't, the vast majority are riddled with rust as LR's idea of rustproofing for the shell was a joke, though the chassis were better protected & generally fare better than Defenders. Although never (unsurprisingly) confirmed by LR the quality of steel used from '89 to build both Classics & the (then) new Disco 1's was of poorer quality. Generally speaking, unless a RRC has benefited from ongoing rust protection treatment from fairly early in it's life, expect it to become very friendly with a welder
