got a prob with my 88 classic in that i get a vibration at anything over 40 mph it almost feels like the props but i have changed all uv's , wheel bearings and cv joints and obviously wheels and balancing are fine. it only seems to do it when i'm accelerating, if i coast it stopsany ideas? also sometimes when i put it into reverse on totally flat ground and move very slowly it feels like i'm running over bumps??

I know this sounds silly but is it engine vibration or chassis? If it's engine it could be that distribution cap and rotary arm need replaced as I had similar excessive vibration but mine was only the engine running with excessive vibration after 30 mph.

If it's something else then goodluck with that!

You say you have changed prop UJ's? try checking out your CV joints and possibly swivel pre-load. Failing that, have a check of the bearings on the transfer box.

Wouldn't have thought it would be the harmonic damper but it is something else to check. Hope that helps ya.

thanks for replys have checked cvs but next route is to check bearings in transfer box and diffs i was just hoping someone could narrow it down for me , before i go down the pain in the arse route, and as i dont have a garage a cold one at that!!!
