Defender is a box on wheels

Been in one today, proper rough in comparison to the RR
But there a proper work vehicle if that's what you need

Disco's and sport can often need the whole body taken off to do work to various parts

That alone has turned me off the disco and sport model

The l322 seems more DIY friendly

Has it got some really good history?
not many owners?

Don't like the lamp grills but does look super.

How much was an L322 new? 70k? So it's the running costs of a 70k car plus it's 11 years old so will cost even more on top to replace the parts that are wearing out. You just need to go in to ownership with that mindset and you'll be ok. Doesn't put me off as I'm after an early V8 one next :)

we really do know they have lots an lots of problems.
it is not nessessarily the problems/cost just the frequency!

If it would go between servicing and cost £££ then that would be one thing.
it is however the ever reminder you have a RR. every month, every week, every drive...££
enjoy..

They are no less or more reliable than the P38...just the cost of the fix is expotentially more in some circumstances....

Just buy it if it drives you into debt and you end up homeless and have to sell your kids for science experiments to pay for repairs at least you'll still have a range rover , at least buying from a dealer there must be some sort of warranty , but check the front prop/diff connection has been done if not walk away everything else water leaking in oil coming out little electronic gremlins running amok is all part of the joy of range rovers
