Having hell getting this sump nut off, 12 spanner didn’t fit and 13 is a bit loose, tips for this?

What way do they normal come off? Seems unbreakable, any help appreciated.

Try 1/2" AF

Use a 6 sided socket

Thanks, do you know where I can find stamped on the engine 16L or 23L for the sump plug size?

I don't sorry.
I thought the early landrovers (200tdi etc) were bigger @ 1.1/8"AF
I had a 300tdi with that larger size and presumed the sump wasn't original fit. The one I have now (with a refurb engine) is the newer/smaller 1/2AF

Found the engine stamp, it’s to the left hand side of the first injector

i have a set of something similar to these damaged bolt/nut removers, they have never failed to do the trick on many a vehicle,they are under 14 quid at screwfix.

a must for any toolbox,

Get a set of spanners or sockets that grip on the flats and not the corners. A couple of decades ago I bought a set of spanners called 'Metrinch'.
Those sockets are a LOT cheaper as i paid over a hundred pounds! Seems to be worth it though...
