OK, no real improvement after a good scrub with washing up liquid. Hippo, I'm wondering if mine have gone beyond that? They were certainly sticky (which was how this all started off) but there's no rubbery coating on them. They're just hard (and fairly brittle, I suspect) plastic. I think Mackers' bumper black is probably the next thing I'll try.

Mackers, when you say clear nail varnish, do you mean on top of the bumper black to seal them, or just straight on to the (cleaned) milky surface?

Incidentally, does anyone know if that Sony radio / CD player is original, please? If so, is it possible to add an Aux input?

Sounds like its gone milky as the surface is damaged. Only way to fix that would be to paint it or use a plastic cleaner which adds colour. Like on bumpers.

If you really don't want something to pick at with your fingernails at the traffic lights, try wrapping them in camo.

No the Sony HU has replaced the standard HU.

As for the knobs going milky, I'd be tempted to replace them, if painting doesn't work.

Big thanks to Mackers. Have given them two coats of grey T-Cut Bumper dressing and they look the business now! I'll see how they fare in terms of durability.
