Hi to all was after your thoughts as seen a few defenders with rope round front winch bumper what are your thoughts on the matter and a happy new year to you all

If you clipped your winch rope to top of windscreen or back end of wings (a decent amount unspooled) when you go to use it you dont have to wind that bit out and back in again

Yeah, coz that's real effort releasing 2 meters of line....
 
maybe expecting sudden change in terrain and have to jump out quickly as a F1 pit crew ;):p:D:D

The difference between your two photos is that the first looks like the owner does not have a home to attach the winch hook to, so has looped the cable around to hold the hook and stop it rattling around. Normally on that sort of bumper it would have "shackles" inserted in to the two holes either side of the top of the steering guard plate.

The second rope is as you say the spectre look, good luck keeping it as someone will have it away.
