I have one of those old fashioned roof racks big enough to carry an elephant
hunters trophy's home, which fixes additionally to the front window pivot
bolts.
The constant flexing of this as I go over bumps seems to have caused metal
fatigue on the bulkhead mountings to the degree that the top of the left
side mounting has sheared off completely (along a previos weld so it has
happened before) and there is not an awful lot holding the right on as that
is about to go the same way.
Is this a common thing with this kind of roof rack. I am going to get
reinforcing plates welded on.
