Hello,

I have a roof rack which I want to put some luggage on the roof for and need a fancy cover for it.

Something like this.....

basically like most time I don't have a clue and was wondering if you guys have any ideas?

Buy a tarpaulin maybe to fit over it with bungy cords?

Some one who makes boat covers will have no problem making something to your requirements. Just need to make sure that you've got all the luggage on board when they measure up. These guys did some lovely work for my boat. Not cheap though! http://www.dolphinsails.com/ Otherwise I'd have thought a company that repairs truck curtain sides could do the job.

When I was a kid, you could always spot the Brits abroad by the flapping polythene on the roof rack!

I wanted the same thing for last years Normandy tour, ended up buying a heavy waxed cotton tarp from flea bay. Worked a treat. and the best bit is I took some old tent poles and ratchet straps so when we were camped up it was used as a awning from the side of my 110.

There is an online cover your car group

Who custom make covers, however when I tried them as soon as I mentioned a roof rack they said they wouldn't touch it and were quite snotty. Not sure why as if you look at the extra work above going around the light on the back I don't see how the roof rack would make a difference.

Ha ha it's as if you dropped the 'C bomb'. Random cheers guys, yeah I've searched loads and it seems to be a rare item. As Sestina and Stu said I may have to make/have made my own. I have another leak appeared so that may take priory and I'll end of with a home made giant Tesco bag for life one
